On January 29, the "Enter Dongfeng Yipai · Advanced Manufacturing - Innovation Technology Exchange Day" was successfully held at Dongfeng Yipai Technology Company in Wuhan. Hosted by Dongfeng Yipai, the event featured Huayan Robotics, a Siemens Xcelerator ecosystem partner, alongside Siemens and other companies. The event focused on showcasing the efficient application and innovative value of collaborative robots in smart manufacturing for the automotive industry, particularly in the areas of AI-integrated visual inspection and advanced technologies.

 

 

 

At the event, Huayan Robotics introduced its “High-Precision 3D Visual Scanning Inspection Application,” which drew significant attention from industry professionals and experts due to its efficiency, precision, and intelligence. This application leverages the high accuracy, stability, and control algorithms of Huayan collaborative robots. It demonstrated how a 3D scanning system with a measurement accuracy of up to 4 microns can bring greater value in automation and flexibility, empowering high-quality scanning and inspection scenarios in automotive manufacturing.

 

 

 

In the niche field of collaborative robots combined with high-precision visual inspection, Huayan Robotics has established long-term, stable partnerships with leading domestic and international visual companies such as Shining 3D, Keyence, and Hexagon. These collaborations have led to a wide range of applications in automotive painting, assembly, quality inspection, as well as in production lines for power batteries and automotive parts.

 

For large assembly parts like the white body side panels, chassis, and complex castings such as engine and turbocharger shells, Huayan collaborative robots equipped with high-precision vision systems can quickly set robotic arm scanning paths using drag teaching. These robots then perform automated, flexible scanning operations. By comparing the scanned data with the original design models, they generate visual inspection reports for efficient dimensional checks.

 

In the application of new energy vehicle battery tray inspection, Huayan Robotics can complete over 10 types of inspections, including flange flatness, inner cavity length, and spot weld detection, within 60 seconds, doubling efficiency. Furthermore, the flexible vision inspection workstation built on Huayan Robotics is highly adaptable to "multi-variety, small-batch" inspection tasks, capable of accommodating different models and sizes of workpieces to be inspected.

 

In train chassis visual inspection, Huayan's lightweight collaborative robot—integrated with a high-precision scanning system and an AGV trolley—delivers seamless coordination of motion, positioning, and visual inspection. This setup efficiently performs image capture and intelligent maintenance tasks in confined spaces, achieving both cost control and improved production efficiency.

 

The application scenarios of Huayan collaborative robots in the automotive manufacturing industry extend beyond these examples. They can also meet the requirements for large-torque tightening, with precise screw driving for components with a strength grade of ≤10.9 and specifications ≤M16, in areas such as automotive chassis, body structures, new energy battery packs, and headlights. The Elfin-Ex explosion-proof series of collaborative robots can replace manual labor in tasks like spraying automotive bumpers, wheels, and components. "High-frequency application scenarios such as engine bearing assembly, automotive seat assembly, air tightness testing, spot welding, new energy battery liquid injection cleaning, sponge strip sticking, and labeling are also key areas where Huayan collaborative robots are actively deployed."
